“it’s spring when the world is puddle-wonderful” – E.E. Cummins

Just a few photographs from today… our Family Thursday. I take Thursdays off to spend it with my family since I work on the week-ends. They are almost sacred to me now. Today was a simple day filled with nothing but puddles, rain boots and rolled up pants, lots of snacks and no “Bittens”(mittens)! We splashed and we strolled all around our neighbourhood, lunching at Chez Jose on their tiny terrasse (basically the sidewalk) on Duluth Street. Lucas eventually fell asleep in his stroller on St-Denis street so we window shopped until he woke up. In all it was a sweet spring day!

Today I have the pleasure of meeting the little guy who was in the belly of his gorgeous mommy. He will be about one month old and I cannot wait to meet the little Edward.  I am so glad that I get to show everyone these beautiful photos of two lovely parents-to-be. This is one lucky boy as his parents were over-the-moon excited for him to arrive and from what I’ve heard, they are completely in love with him.

Normally when I am asked about what to wear for a maternity session, I usually say the standard classic black or white, but this stylish mommy has the most beautiful colours picked out and I am so happy with the resulting photos. I’m converted now! From now on I will tell my mothers-to-be to “Please wear what you love”. This lifestyle maternity session took place in December, it was cold and snowy so we stayed indoors but we did sneak in a photo outside.

This was the first time I’ve photographed anyone 3 days from their due date. I never book sessions after 37 weeks because the chance of giving birth is so high! This is my beautiful friend Heather, who I rarely see. It’s crazy once you have a kid. It becomes all about family and work and finding the time to balance it all out with friends is so challenging. I came over for a short visit and snapped a few photos of my very pregnant friend on a very cold and dark grey day.

Would you believe that she popped out the baby the very next day?!? I’m so happy I have these photos of her third and most likely very last baby belly. I think she looks radiant and gorgeous!

This week-end we got our weekly visit from my parents. My son loves my parents. He sees them almost every week so he’s developed this special relationship with them, but especially my father. It’s like they have some kind of secret club together. My dad seems to be able to get down to his level and understand him and talk to him in such a way that allows them to form this tight bond of love and friendship. When they are together, Lucas forgets about me. It warms my heart to see them together. It’s funny, I never thought that my relationship with my parents could get any deeper but it has ever since we had Lucas.

Here he is playing with his daddy’s guitar and having a grand old time. I’m loving back lighting these days. It’s so gorgeous and dreamy.
